John A. Russell, 67 of
Parkersburg, WV entered into the Presence of Jesus Saturday January 20, 2018 at
Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born in Parkersburg, WV a
son of the late John R. and Amy R. (Burrows) Russell.
John retired after thirty-three
years from Pepsi Cola and then owned Russell Distributing for eleven years. He
then became the Coin Guy, owning and operating a coin shop. He was very active
at South Parkersburg United Methodist Church, where he got great pleasure being
the sound technician. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps and was a member
and past president of Parkersburg Coin Club, member of OH-KAN Coin Club, member
of Pepsi Cola Collectors Club, and member of American Legion Post 15.
He is survived by his wife of
thirty-eight years Nancy (Miller) Russell; children Ron Sams (Lisa) of Mineral
Wells, Aimee Powell (Anita) of Marietta, Chris Russell (Jaimie) of Morgantown,
and Sam Sams (Kristi) of Mineral Wells, sister Evelyn Stephens (Tom) of
Washington; and his two special pals Phineas and Furb. He was proud to be“Poppy” to
In addition to his parents he was
preceded in death by his son David Russell.
Services will be Friday 5:00 P.M.
at South Parkersburg United Methodist Church with Reverends Jim Plyburn and Rick
Brown officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Leavitt
Funeral Home, Parkersburg and Friday one hour prior to the service at the

William Ray Wilcox, 67, of Huntington,
WV, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018, at his residence. He was born
November 4, 1950 in Huntington a son of the late Ray and Doris Donnally Wilcox.
He was retired from INCO.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Wolfe Wilcox; a
sister, Jody Sullivan of Huntington; two nieces, Abby (Tony) Lilly and Amy
Sullivan, all of Huntington; a great niece, Savannah Parrish; a great nephew,
Asher Parrish; and cousins, Allen Wilcox, Linda Sexton, Betty Turley, Janice
Williams, and Damon Wilcox.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
